BOLOGNESE WITH HIDDEN VEGGIES

SERVES a family

Serve with pasta and sprinkle Parmesan cheese

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup of basil and parsley, finely chopped

  • 2 garlic clove, chopped finely

  • 1 brown onion, finely chopped

  • 5 mushrooms finely chopped

  • 1 carrot, grated

  • 1 Zucchini, grated

  • 500 grams organic beef mince

  • 1 tin organic lentils

  • 1 small tub tomato paste

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 jar tomato puree

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

METHOD

  1. Heat oil in large pan with garlic and onion, stir for 5 minutes or until golden

  2. Add beef mince

  3. While mince is browning, add mushrooms, carrots, and zucchinis

  4. Add tomato paste, puree, water and sugar

  5. Add lentils and all herbs

  6. Mix through, simmer for 30 minutes

  7. Cook pasta and add together
